Music festival season is fast approaching, I mean Coachella is April 12-14/19-21! I’ve never been yet though I have a friend who goes EVERY year … so jealous. I hear it is a ton of fun. And I mean, a large outdoor music festival all weekend – who wouldn’t have fun at that?
A lot of times you hear about these festivals and the fashions that pop are instant flower child: crochet, bare skin, crop tops with tribal prints… this is how Cosmo describes it in their April issue. But according to my friend, Kelsey, this is outdated!
“Basically, what you see at festivals is either what’s been pretty popular throughout the “indie” community throughout the season, but occasionally you see those crazy people who just wear things to stand out,” said Kelsey.
She told me that she’ll most likely see a lot of pastels, high-waisted bottoms, maxi dress/skirts, skull & bones, a lot of dip-dyed shorts/shirts, and stud embellishments this year. So I followed her suggestions and found some great pieces for us fuller-figured ladies.
Places to shop? Kelsey suggests forever 21, loveculture, urban outfitters, and Modcloth.
“Music festivals are so much fun, if you know how to do them properly. No one likes seeing the drunk girl puke because she’s an idiot and only drank beer in 100+ degree weather,” said Kelsey.
So there you go, fashion and some advice. If you get to go you will definitely see Kelsey at Coachella this year (again)! One of these years, you’ll see me too.
